Toner isn't bundled, which keeps the price low. It takes HP 218A / 218X cartridges — aftermarket 4-packs run around ~$60. One thing to know: HP's firmware can block third-party toner, so buy the “with chip” (firmware-safe) version and turn off the printer's automatic firmware updates (a quick setting in the printer's menu).
